Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has hailed the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for his “transformative and peaceful reign” as he marks 30 years on the throne of Sheikh Alimi.
In a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, and shared via the Kwara State Government’s official X handle on Tuesday, AbdulRazaq described the Emir’s three-decade rule as one defined by peace, progress, and cultural revival.
“The 30 years have been defined by positive transformative developments in the Ilorin Emirate,” the governor said. “Under his reign, the capital city has evolved to become one of Nigeria’s most peaceful and beautiful communities.”
AbdulRazaq praised the monarch’s wisdom and calm leadership, particularly in guiding the traditional council and supporting the state government’s drive for good governance, infrastructure renewal, and socio-cultural transformation.
The statement further highlighted the Emir’s background as a retired senior judge, noting that his “love for law and order underscores his deep commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and national development.”
Governor AbdulRazaq concluded his message by praying for the Emir’s long life, continued wisdom, and divine protection. “May Allah continue to guide and protect His Royal Highness on the throne of his forefathers and grant him an honoured ending,” he said.
