Plenary resumption of the National Assembly is postponed to October 7; committees continue legislative and oversight activities.

The National Assembly has postponed its plenary resumption from Tuesday, September 23, 2025, to Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Reason for Rescheduling

The Clerks of the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, Esq., and the House of Representatives, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq., explained that the shift allows for administrative and procedural preparations to ensure the Parliament reconvenes smoothly.

Committee Activities Continue

While plenary sessions are delayed, committee work will continue. This includes:

  • Public hearings
  • Oversight visits
  • Other legislative engagements

10th Assembly’s commitment

The House of Representatives, through its Spokesman, Akin Rotimi Jr, reaffirmed the 10th Assembly’s commitment to its duties of lawmaking, representation, and oversight.

The Assembly remains focused on delivering its Legislative Agenda (2023–2027) for the benefit of Nigerians.

Resumption date.

The leadership of both Chambers expressed regret for any inconvenience and urged Senators, Honourable Members, and the public to note the new resumption date.
