The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has expressed strong confidence in Nigeria’s ability to overcome its current socio-economic and political challenges, declaring that “Nigeria will get out of its quagmire.”
Bishop Adegbite made the declaration while receiving members of the Fiditi Progressive Union (FPU), Abuja branch, who paid him a courtesy visit at the NCPC headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, the NCPC boss commended President Bola Tinubu for his inclusive and merit-driven leadership style, describing him as a “detribalized leader” who prioritizes competence and national unity. He called on Nigerians to rally behind the President’s administration and support its efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy.
A Press Statement signed by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head, Media and Public Relations, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, quoted Bishop Adegbite as saying, “I am optimistic that Nigeria will emerge stronger from its current challenges. What we need now is unity, patience, and collective commitment to national development”.
The cleric also expressed his appreciation for the visit by members of his hometown association, Fiditi in Oyo State, and pledged continued support for development initiatives that would positively impact the people of Fiditi. He further emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and uprightness, especially in leadership and public service.
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the FPU Abuja branch, Jimmy Adeyi, congratulated Bishop Adegbite on his appointment and thanked President Tinubu for recognizing the Bishop’s leadership qualities. He urged the NCPC boss to be a worthy ambassador of the Fiditi community and uphold the values that define its people.
The visit served as both a show of solidarity and a celebration of one of Fiditi’s sons taking on a significant national role.
