The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has reiterated his commitment to promoting national unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
A statement signed by the Deputy Director and Head, Media and Public Relations, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Celestine Toruka says Bishop Adegbite made the pledge while receiving executive members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Abuja and District Society, at the NCPC headquarters in Abuja.
He commended the integrity and professionalism of ICAN, describing it as one of Nigeria’s reputable institutions. “Keeping records and ensuring accountability are critical virtues, not just in accounting, but also in Christian living. Everyone must give account of their stewardship here on earth,” he stated.
The NCPC boss also reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to continuous staff development across various areas of specialization to boost service delivery. He assured the visiting ICAN delegation of his willingness to collaborate with the institute to strengthen good governance and professionalism.
“My assignment goes beyond pilgrimage; it includes preaching peace because without peace, there can be no progress,” Bishop Adegbite noted. He urged Nigerians to unite in building a stronger and more prosperous nation, while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts at national development.
Earlier, Chairman of ICAN, Abuja and District Society, Dr. Michael Okpara, congratulated Bishop Adegbite on his appointment and lauded the Commission’s successful execution of the 2024 Main Pilgrimage. He also requested NCPC’s support for ICAN staff within the Commission, particularly in facilitating sponsorship to the upcoming Annual Accountants Conference scheduled for October 2025.
