The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has charged staff of the Commission to uphold the values of ethics, accountability, transparency, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

A statement made available to Democracy Radio by the commission’s spokesman, Celestine Toruka says Bishop Adegbite made the call in Abuja while declaring open the 2025 Staff Training Workshop of the Commission held at the Army Resort Center, Mambilla Barracks, Asokoro.

He described the workshop as a vital step towards improving staff capacity, enhancing administrative efficiency, and strengthening service delivery within the Commission.

“The NCPC corporate slogan, ‘Service and Satisfaction,’ should be imbibed by every staff and carried out with diligence, godliness, dedication, and devotion,” the NCPC boss stated.

Speaking on the theme of the training, “Ethics, Transparency and Accountability in Public Service,” Bishop Adegbite urged staff to be responsible, resourceful, and committed to excellence, warning against complacency and eye service.

“If you are not responsible to yourself, you can never be responsible to the organization, because you cannot give what you do not have,” he said, while emphasizing teamwork as key to achieving the Commission’s corporate goals.

The Executive Secretary also commended the lead consultant for the workshop, Victor Ivoke, for his effective facilitation. He recalled that Ivoke’s firm had conducted a similar training for NCPC staff last year, which was widely acknowledged as impactful.

Earlier, the Director of Administration, Abu Okpanachi, expressed gratitude to the Executive Secretary for prioritizing staff development, assuring him of the loyalty and commitment of the workforce toward achieving the Commission’s objectives.

The two-day training, which brought together staff from all departments, featured sessions on work ethics, communication, and accountability, aimed at equipping participants with the skills needed for the successful execution of the 2025 main pilgrimage exercise.
