Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission has held a colourful send-forth in honour of two of its senior officers who retired in August.
Those celebrated were Barrister Sonny Ebiyaibo, former Director of Administration, and Agiobu Fyneface, former Chief Executive Officer in the Accounts Department.
A statement made available to Democracy Radio by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head, Media and Public Relations, NCPC, says the Commission’s headquarters was filled with tributes, prayers, and celebrations as colleagues, family, and dignitaries gathered for the event.
Executive Secretary, Bishop Professor Stephen Adegbite, described the retirees as beacons of hard work and humility, noting that their contributions had left indelible marks on the Commission
Responding, Barrister Ebiyaibo expressed gratitude, describing NCPC as more than a workplace but “a community where faith and service go hand in hand. “This is more than a workplace, It is a community where faith and service go hand in hand.” he said.
The celebration was not without its sweet moments. In a symbolic gesture of joy, birthday cakes were cut in honour of the retirees, drawing applause and smiles from guests.
The hall glowed with warmth as colleagues shared fond memories, laughter echoed, and prayers were offered for the new chapter ahead.
The ceremony also featured birthday cake cutting in their honour, as well as the presence of eminent personalities including Senator Reverend Amos Johanna, a former Director of Operations at the Commission and retired senior government officials.
The two men were celebrated not only for their professional service but also for leaving behind a legacy of faith, diligence, and commitment that will continue to shape the Commission.
