The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a consignment of 70 parcels of cocaine, weighing 3.6 kilograms, concealed in cocoa butter body cream containers bound for London, United Kingdom.

The discovery was made on October 14, 2025, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, during the examination of cargo labeled as personal effects on an Air Peace flight to London.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi in a statement on Sunday in Abuja said a cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the shipment for airfreight, was immediately arrested.

He said Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co Travel Agency, in Ikeja GRA.

In a similar operation, NDLEA operatives at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, thwarted an attempt by a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, to export 103.59 grams of methamphetamine hidden in a herbal coffee tea pack to the Philippines.

At Bode Saadu, Kwara State, operatives also recovered 21,950 capsules of tramadol (250mg) concealed inside a 100-litre water heater from Umar Abubakar, 40, following credible intelligence.

In Lagos, NDLEA officers on Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Nightclub at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was underway.

Over 100 suspects, including the club’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening.

The raid followed credible intelligence, with NDLEA operatives embedded at the venue from 11 p.m. before disrupting the event around 3 a.m. Cartons of illicit substances, including “Loud” (a potent cannabis strain) and nitrous oxide (laughing gas), were recovered from the club’s store.

Across the country, NDLEA operatives made several arrests and seizures, including:

*Taraba State:* Two suspects, Auwal Musa (26) and Salihu Bala (22), were arrested with 450,000 pills of tramadol and Exol-5 concealed in a truck transporting building materials from Onitsha to Mubi.

Meanwhile, NDLEA Commands across the country continued their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaigns targeting schools, religious institutions, workplaces, and communities.

The campaigns were conducted in states including Oyo, Kebbi, Enugu, Benue, Taraba, Rivers, and Kano, among others.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), commended the officers for their professionalism and dedication, urging them to sustain the agency’s balanced approach to drug control.

“Our progress depends on consistency combining enforcement with prevention through education and advocacy,” Marwa said.
