Adding to the very long list of staff and players’ welfare over the years such as a work friendly environment, commensurate wage structure, clear career growth pathway and more, The President of the Federation Uyi Akpata, has delivered yet another masterstroke of profound insight, strategic thinking and savvy decision that demonstrates true leadership.
Health insurance plays a critical role in advancing the general welfare of a population. When accessible and affordable, it allows individuals to seek preventive care, manage chronic conditions, and avoid financial ruin due to medical emergencies. Public programs like HMO’s, along with employer-sponsored plans, are instrumental in distributing healthcare benefits across various socioeconomic groups.
For the Nigeria Cricket Federation, this is no exception. The President has approved and directed that all staff and players under contract with the Federation should immediately be subscribed under private Health Insurance Scheme. Staff and players will have the opportunity to choose from the various partner health facilities across the country with the best proximity.
Regardless of the various international engagements by the Senior Men and Women’s National teams over the next couple of weeks, players can fill out their forms and send electronically to the secretariat where it will be processed immediately to ensure that there are no delays and they too can begin to enjoy the scheme as soon as they return back to the country.
Ultimately, the goal of any organization should be to support the general welfare of their employees through fair, accessible, and accountable means.
Under the leadership of a vibrant board led by Uyi Akpata, Nigeria Cricket Federation remains arguably the best structured and organized Sports Federation in the country, mirrored by international best practices.
