NILDS DG Celebrates Ex-Chief of Staff Gambari at 81

The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, has congratulated former Chief of Staff to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, on his 81st birthday.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Prof. Sulaiman describes Gambari as a distinguished diplomat, astute administrator, and respected academic whose career reflects decades of service to Nigeria, Africa, and the international community.

“Prof. Gambari’s journey is a testament to the bridges of conviviality he built across Nigeria and the African sub-region in the international diplomatic arena,” the statement read.

Prof. Sulaiman highlighted Gambari’s extensive public service record, including roles as a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Minister of External Affairs, United Nations Permanent Representative, UN Special Envoy, and Chief of Staff to the late President Buhari.

Recalling their personal relationship, Prof. Sulaiman referred to Gambari as a role model and prayed for his continued health and active contribution to Kwara State, the Ilorin Emirate, Nigeria, and the global community.
