The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) on Thursday, December 12, 2024, had its end of the year party, celebrating and honouring exceptional staff who had contributed positively to the success of the organisation.

At the ceremony, Director General of NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie, for his exemplary service as the former Director of Legislative Support Service (DLSS),urging him to maintain his trajectory of selfless service in his new role.

The Director General also provided an overview of NILDS’ milestones in 2024, highlighting achievements in staff welfare, infrastructure development, research, training, capacity building, legislative drafting, and partnerships. He assured staff that 2025 would usher in more innovative activities, increased productivity, and enhanced welfare, urging them to demonstrate greater commitment.

NILDS Boss, announced improved welfare packages for staff and an increment in the allowances of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving at NILDS, a gesture met with loud appreciation from the staff.

The event concluded with the presentation of awards and plaques to outstanding staff members across various categories, including the “Overall Best Staff,” “Best Dressed,” and “Best Corper of the Year 2024.”
