The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that its online ticketing platform for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service is now open, as operations are set to resume on October 1.
Chief Public Relations Officer of NRC, Callistus Unyimadu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, urging passengers to secure their tickets ahead of time through the official platform or at designated train stations.
Unyimadu also confirmed that journey time has been shortened following a review of the Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) to enhance service efficiency. The new schedule is as follows:
Abuja – Kaduna: Idu departure, 8:45 a.m.; Kubwa stop, 9:10 a.m.; Rigasa arrival, 11:47 a.m.
Kaduna – Abuja: Rigasa departure, 2:30 p.m.; Kubwa stop, 5:12 p.m.; Idu arrival, 5:32 p.m.
He assured the public that passenger safety, comfort, and satisfaction remain the corporation’s top priorities, while appreciating travelers for their patience during the service suspension.
‘The Abuja–Kaduna route was temporarily halted after a passenger train derailed on August 26, leaving several carriages overturned and sparking panic. The NRC has since carried out comprehensive safety, technical, and operational checks before announcing the resumption.
