The FCT Police Command and the Army Headquarters Garrison have pledged to strengthen intelligence sharing and joint operations to improve security in the Federal Capital Territory.

The commitment followed a meeting between the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, and the Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General JR Lar, in Abuja on Thursday.

Lar led a delegation to the FCT Police Command Headquarters as part of a courtesy visit to the police commissioner.

During the meeting, the Army commander acknowledged the existing cooperation between the police and the Army Garrison.

He called for stronger collaboration in intelligence sharing, joint operations and other areas of security cooperation.

Lar also stressed the need to promote camaraderie among personnel of both formations.

Responding, Sanusi assured the Army commander of the police command’s full support and cooperation.

The commissioner said the FCT Police Command would continue to strengthen its partnership with the Army Garrison to support security operations across the capital.

He also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to deeper inter-agency cooperation in the discharge of their responsibilities.
