The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, describing him as a towering figure whose legacy in national security and public service will stand the test of time.

In a heartfelt condolence message to the Buhari family, the government, and the people of Nigeria, Senator Gaidam highlighted President Buhari’s pivotal role in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture, including his decisive action to re-establish the Ministry of Police Affairs—an enduring testament to his foresight and commitment to national safety.

“President Buhari’s contributions to the Nigerian Police Ecosystem were significant and far-reaching. His administration approved critical funding for fuel supplies to power police operational vehicles nationwide, underscoring his unwavering dedication to the welfare and effectiveness of our security institutions,” the Minister stated.

Senator Gaidam noted that Buhari’s leadership, marked by integrity, discipline, and devotion to national development, left an indelible impact on Nigeria.

“This is not just a loss to his family or to those who served with him—it is a profound loss to the nation. He was a true patriot whose passion for service and country will never be forgotten.”

The Ministry of Police Affairs, alongside the entire Police Ecosystem, joins the nation in mourning a statesman who served with honor, courage, and conviction.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all Nigerians during this difficult time,” the Minister said. “May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy continue to guide us in the pursuit of a safer and stronger Nigeria.”
