President Tinubu Appoints Dr. Mansur Muhtar as Chairman BOI Board

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new members to the Board of the Bank of Industry Limited. Dr. Mansur Muhtar has been appointed as Chairman, while Dr. Olasupo Olusi will serve as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Ifeoma Uz’Okpala was also named Executive Director, Large Enterprises, with Shekarau Omar appointed as Executive Director, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

Usen Effiong will take on the role of Executive Director, Corporate Services, and Mabel Ndagi will serve as Executive Director, Public Sector & Intervention Programmes.

Other appointments include Rotimi Akinde as Executive Director, Corporate Finance and Risk Management, and Tajudeen Datti Ahmed as Non-Executive Director, representing the Ministry of Finance Incorporated.

Adedamola Olufemi Young will represent the Central Bank of Nigeria as a Non-Executive Director.

Additional board members include Reverend Isaac Adefemi Agoye, representing the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria as a Non-Executive Director, Mallam Muhammad Bala, representing the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment as a Non-Executive Director, Oreoluwa Adeyemi as an Independent Non-Executive Director, and Sulaiman Musa Kadira as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

According to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Muhtar brings decades of experience in finance, international development, public service, and academia to his new role.

He previously served as Minister of Finance, Budget, and Economic Development from 2008 to 2010 and was Vice-President of Operations at the Islamic Development Bank before this appointment.

President Tinubu expects the new Board of the Bank of Industry to work harmoniously and diligently, with utmost fidelity to the nation, in fulfilling the institution’s mandate to support projects that enhance job creation, poverty alleviation, and the socio-economic conditions of Nigerian families.
