The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, has dismissed as false and mischievous, rumours suggesting he has defected or plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri, the DG describes the speculation as baseless and the handiwork of those unsettled by his rising national profile and unwavering political stance.

Professor Sulaiman reaffirmed his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and stressed that he has no affiliation with the ADC or any other political group.

He maintained that his current focus remains on delivering his mandate at NILDS with patriotism and excellence.

The DG also restated his loyalty to the leadership of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and pledged continued support for the Governor’s developmental vision and the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The statement urges the public to disregard the defection claims, describing them as a failed attempt to stir unnecessary political tension.

According to the statement, Professor Sulaiman, remains firmly rooted in the ideals of the APC and committed to the service of the nation.
