The House of Representatives has assured Nigerians that constituency projects nominated by lawmakers will be implemented despite fiscal challenges.
House Spokesman, Representative Akin Rotimi Jr., who said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, noted that the leadership has been engaging the Minister of Finance through the Appropriations Committees to resolve delayed payments to contractors.
“Payments have already commenced, and the leadership is committed to ensuring that all outstanding 2024 obligations are settled expeditiously,” Rotimi disclosed.
He stressed that constituency projects are crucial to grassroots development and align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Constituency projects are essential for extending government presence nationwide. While there are delays, these are not peculiar to lawmakers’ projects but part of a broader fiscal reality,” he explained.
