Senator Ita Enang on Monday appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his nomination as an ambassador.
His name was one of the sixty five ambassadorial nominees forwarded to the Senate for confirmation last week Thursday by the President.
Ita Enang who represented Akwa – Ibom North East in the Senate during the 7th National Assembly (June 2011 to June 2015), also thanked the President of the Senate , Godswill Akpabio for the nomination from the home front .
Enang’s stated this in a statement he personally signed on Monday.
The statement reads :” express my profound and sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Present Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, for this exceptional privilege of being nominated for ambassadorial position .
“I pledge my utmost as I go through the process. To our Akwa Ibom people, and in particular the Ibibio Nation, may I state categorically that at no time has the Senate President held any segment of our people in contempt, diminished our esteem, or denied us our due.
“On the contrary, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership, remarkable inclusiveness, and an unwavering commitment to carrying every section of our State along.
“We as a people, must recognise how fortunate we are to have him occupy the esteemed position of the third highest office in the Federal Republic of Nigeria His influence and advocacy on our behalf has elevated a once politically ephemeral State to a position of National relevance.
“He deserves from us the honour, courtesy, and gratitude befitting a worthy son | have been working closely with the Senate President along with the Hon. Minister for Petroleum (Gas), Rt Hon Ekpenkpe Ekpo in the course of several decisions taken regarding the Akwa Ibom APC and patronages prior to His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, joining our Party.
“This includes engagements surrounding the budget and infrastructure, which culminated in the provision of 10 billion in the 2025 budget for the Nkari Dam on Ini, and the Itu/Ibiono Dam in Ibiono Ibom.
” If there was anything which inadvertently was misunderstood, | take responsibility and any blame because | was on the table at His invitation in the course thereof.
“May I therefore use this medium to appeal to all our people to unite firmly behind the Senate President and Governor Umo Eno as they jointly lead our dear State toward the Land of Promise, Progress and Prosperity for all”.
