Sheroes Cup 2025: Ekiti, Remo, Others Record Wins on Matchday 2

The second matchday of the Sheroes Cup Pre-Season Tournament 2025 delivered a spectacle of footballing dominance, individual brilliance, and intense competition at the Area 3 Football Pitch in Abuja, with Ekiti Queens, Naija Ratels, and Remo Ladies recording emphatic victories.

Ekiti Queens produced a scintillating attacking display to thrash hosts FCT Ladies 6–0 in the first fixture of the day.

Midfielder Amarachi Okoronkwo led the onslaught with a brace, scoring in the 3rd and 43rd minutes. An own goal by Godfrey Alheri in the 16th minute added to FCT’s woes, before Latifa Usman, Zainab Ismail, and Paschali Adelaye extended the lead.

Despite the heavy defeat, FCT Ladies’ goalkeeper, Uche Anthony, was named Player of the Match for her commendable individual performance, making multiple crucial saves to prevent further damage.

In a tighter second game, Naija Ratels secured a narrow but important 1–0 victory over Confluence Queens.

The only goal of the match came from Eigbe Miracle, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to put her team ahead. Midfield dynamo Terfa Angela controlled proceedings for the Ratels and was deservedly awarded Player of the Match.

Remo Ladies rounded off the day’s action with a commanding 5–0 win over Dannaz Ladies, showcasing their attacking depth and team cohesion.

Goals came from five different scorers:

Deborah Kehinde – 8th minute

Fagbemero Daniella – 11th minute

Shakira Tobiloba – 38th minute

Chiamaka Maureen – 77th minute

Cynthia Mega – 85th minute

Cynthia Mega capped off the performance with a well-taken goal and a dominant midfield display, earning her the Player of the Match.

With Wednesday set aside as a rest day, attention now turns to Thursday’s fixtures, as teams prepare for what promises to be another round of high-quality football.
