Sheroes Cup 2025: Remo Ladies Retain Crown

The curtains have fallen on the 8th edition of the Sheroes Cup, and once again, Remo Ladies FC proved their dominance, emerging as back-to-back champions after another impressive run in Abuja.

The Ogun State-based side showcased consistency, resilience, and attacking brilliance throughout the week-long pre-season tournament, finishing top of the table with 13 points from five matches.

Remo Ladies, who entered the tournament as defending champions, sealed their title defense with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Confluence Queens in their final fixture.

The result ensured they maintained a perfect record of four wins and one draw, ending the campaign unbeaten with an enviable +13 goal difference — a testament to their firepower and solid defensive setup.

Closely following the champions were Ekiti Queens, who also had a stellar outing. They wrapped up their campaign with a 1–0 win over Naija Ratels, finishing second with 11 points and a healthy +8 goal difference.

Hosts Naija Ratels, despite their spirited performances, couldn’t convert dominance into goals when it mattered most. They settled for third place with 7 points, while Confluence Queens of Kogi finished fourth on 4 points, edging Dannaz Ladies on goal difference.

Dannaz Ladies, who had shown flashes of brilliance — notably their 4–1 win over FCT Ladies on the final day — were undone by inconsistency and defensive lapses. Meanwhile, FCT Ladies endured a difficult tournament, managing just one win in five games and finishing bottom with 3 points and a –14 goal difference.

The 2025 Sheroes Cup once again delivered high-quality football, competitive spirit, and a platform for NWFL Premiership teams to fine-tune ahead of the new season. The tournament — known as Nigeria’s foremost women’s pre-season championship — lived up to its billing with exciting fixtures, emerging stars, and tactical brilliance from all participating teams.
