Speaker Abbas Condemns Niger Market Attack, Condoles Victims’ Families

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has condemned the attack on Kasuwan Daji market in the Demo community of Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, where terrorists killed scores of people, kidnapped several others and set the market ablaze.

The Speaker on Monday described the attack as gruesome and unfortunate, and called on security and intelligence agencies to fully carry out President Bola Tinubu’s directive for a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators.

Speakibg in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media Musa Krish, he urged the security forces to demonstrate concrete results as they implement the presidential order, stressing the need for decisive action against those responsible for the violence.

Speaker Abbas also commended President Tinubu for providing what he described as needed leadership at critical times, adding that the House of Representatives remains ready to provide legislative interventions where necessary.

He commiserated with the families of those killed in the attack and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

The Speaker further extended heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Niger State over the incident.
