Speaker Abbas Mourns Victims of Yobe Boat Mishap

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed deep sadness over the boat mishap in Yobe State that claimed the lives of 29 people and left several others injured.

In a condolence message issued on Monday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker lamented the tragic incident, which occurred late Saturday in Garbi town, Nguru Local Government Area of the state.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Yobe State, and called for strict regulations to ensure the safety of Nigerians across all modes of transportation.

Describing the incident as a painful loss, Speaker Abbas said the tragedy had plunged families and communities into mourning.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, quick recovery for those injured, and strength for the survivors and bereaved families during the difficult period.

The Speaker further assured that the House of Representatives stands in solidarity with Yobe State and will continue to support measures aimed at preventing such avoidable tragedies across the country.
