National Assembly

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has directed the House Committee on Public Service Matters to investigate the recent recruitment exercise conducted by the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).

House Spokesman, Representative Akin Rotimi Jr., stated this in a statement on Sunday saying though the recruitment was not handled by the House, public concerns must be addressed transparently.

“The recruitment exercise is outside the control of the House leadership. However, in line with our oversight responsibility, the Committee on Public Service Matters has been mandated to thoroughly review the process and report back to the House,” Rotimi stated.

He added that the House will ensure the exercise reflects fairness and inclusiveness. “Recruitment into the National Assembly bureaucracy must uphold federal character, inclusiveness, and merit so that all Nigerians feel represented,” he said.
