The Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Justine Madugu, has received an enhanced financial reward from the Federal Government following the team’s historic victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Madugu, who led the Falcons to a 3-2 comeback win against Morocco in Rabat, will now get over $100,000—the same amount awarded to players. The figure is an upgrade from the initial $50,000 announced by President Bola Tinubu when he hosted the team in Abuja.

Sports journalist Osasu Obayiuwana confirmed the development, citing the National Sports Commission. The increase underscores government recognition of the coach’s role in securing Nigeria’s record 10th WAFCON title.
