The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu has again intervened in the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.

Wike made the disclosure on Tuesday during an inspection of road projects in Abuja, saying the President stepped in as a mediator between the Rivers State governor and the state House of Assembly.

He expressed optimism that the intervention would finally bring stability.

He described Tinubu’s involvement as fatherly, noting that this is the second time the President is stepping in to resolve the dispute.

“I believe, by the grace of God, this will be the last time. I have told the Assembly to do the needful and obey Mr President, and I believe the governor will also play his part so that Rivers people will not hear of this kind of discord again,” Wike said.

The minister was speaking after inspecting the completed N5 road in Life Camp and the ongoing Karsana road network in the FCT.

Wike expressed satisfaction with the Life Camp road project handled by Julius Berger, noting that the bridges and four-lane carriageways on both sides are done, while walkways and streetlights are nearing completion.

The project is among those slated for commissioning to mark President Tinubu’s third year in office.

At Karsana, where Lubriks Construction is handling a road network of over 10 kilometres, Wike praised the pace and quality of work.

He described the project as a ring road with finished walkways and said it is on track for completion by May or June.

He assured that the FCT Administration would provide all necessary funds to meet the deadline.

Wike added that continuous inspections will remain a priority to ensure contractors deliver quality work, stressing that infrastructure development remains central to the Tinubu administration’s agenda for the FCT.
