Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that there will be no room for excuses in delivering President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in infrastructure development across the FCT.

He made the statement on Monday, while flagging off the construction of a 3.4 km dual carriage access road in Mabushi District.

Wike stressed that his role is to implement the President’s vision, not burden him with complaints.

“Mr. President will lose confidence in me if all I bring are excuses,” he said, adding that he expects results from heads of sectors committed to the administration’s goals.

“If you are committed, I will give you all the support you need,” he stated.

The Mabushi road project, comprising ILS 02 and ILS 03 (Timipre Sylva Crescent), is expected to enhance access to the Mabushi Bus Terminal and ease mobility in the district.

The road was awarded in March to SETRACO Nigeria Ltd and has a 19-month completion timeline. The scope includes full engineering services such as street lighting and telecom ducts.

Wike reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transforming Abuja into a world-class city, stating that infrastructure remains a key priority but not the only focus. “We are also working on transportation, health, and education. No sector will be left untouched,” he said.

“If it is one of those unapproved N5 billion contracts that balloon to N20 billion, I won’t pay,” he said.

He emphasized that criticism and name-calling come with the territory of politics, but his only concern is the satisfaction of President Tinubu. “As long as my principal is happy, I will stay focused,” he said.
