The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, has extended warm felicitations to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on the occasion of his 51st birthday anniversary.
In a statement issued on Friday, by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Professor Sulaiman described the Ooni’s birthday as a day of great honour — not only because of the prestige of the throne he occupies but also for his personal attributes as a revered traditional ruler and humanitarian.
The NILDS DG lauded the monarch as “an embodiment of royalty” and “an uncommon gift to the nation and humanity,” noting his consistent advocacy for the empowerment of the less privileged and the emancipation of women through his Hope Alive Initiative and House of Oduduwa Foundation.
Professor Sulaiman also praised the Ooni’s philanthropic spirit, humility, and the dignity he has brought to the ancient throne of Ile-Ife. He recalled the monarch’s presence at his own 60th birthday celebration in Abuja, describing it as “a testament to the Ooni’s love and the father-son bond we share.”
While paying homage to the 51st Ooni of Ife, Professor Sulaiman prayed for God to grant the royal father many more years of peaceful reign, good health, and continued service to humanity.
