Nigeria’s Esther Kolawole (62kg), has beaten Haylie Jaffe of USA 10-0 by superiority to lift gold at the Grand Prix of Spain.
The highly spirited African champion came into the encounter with confidence after a convincing 10-0 superiority over Lydia Perez Tourino of Spain in the quarter-final and a 4-1 victory against Polish Alicja Nowosad in the semi-final.
The gold medal is a testament to Esther Kolawole’s potential and belief in what she can achieve.
Reacting to the win, the President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Honourable Daniel Igali, on behalf of the board, applauded the motivated performance of Esther Kolawole, expressing confidence that the experience will shape her for future international events.

Igali, noted that he is satisfied with the incredible outing, saying that if she continues on that trajectory, Nigerians should be hopeful of many gold medals in the near future from her.
After her victory in Spain, Esther Kolawole now turns her attention to the Ranking Series in Budapest, Hungary, which runs from July 14th to 19th, 2025, in preparation for the World Wrestling Championship in Croatia later this year.
