The President of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), Madam Bouchra Hajij, has sent a message of solidarity and deep compassion to the people of Cape Verde, following the hardships the archipelago is currently experiencing.
In her statement, Madame Hajij expressed, on behalf of the entire African volleyball family, her emotion towards the difficulties faced by the Cape Verde population. She assured the sporting authorities and the people of Cape Verde of the unwavering support of the CAVB, reaffirming that the spirit of solidarity and unity remains at the core values of the institution.
“On behalf of the African family, I express our deep sadness and solidarity with the people of Cape Verde, President Antonio, the bereaved families and all the victims of the passage of Hurricane Erin to São Vicente,” said the president of the CAVB.
She recalled that Cape Verde can count on the friendship and brotherhood of African volleyball.
An active and committed member of the African volleyball family, Cape Verde has been contributing for many years to the radiation of the discipline on the continent. His representative, Mr. Antonio Rodriguez, among other things, holds one of the CAVB Vice President positions, demonstrating the leading role that the archipelago plays in the governance and development of African volleyball.
Through this message, the President of the CAVB reminds that sport goes beyond borders and competitions: it is also a vector of human solidarity and brotherhood among peoples.
