The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has confirmed that elections into the positions of Athletes’ and Technical Representatives will be held on Friday, September at the Media Centre of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In a statement signed by the federation’s secretary, the NRFF disclosed that preparations for the polls have been concluded, with all arrangements tailored to ensure a transparent and credible process.

The exercise follows the earlier circulation of eligibility criteria and nomination forms to interested candidates, in compliance with the recent electoral guidelines issued by the National Sports Commission.

The upcoming election is being described as a crucial milestone for the federation, as stakeholders believe it could usher in one of the smoothest leadership transitions in recent years.

Expectations are high that the process will further strengthen the NRFF’s administrative framework, enhance inclusivity, and lay a foundation for stability and renewed progress in the development of rugby across the country.

Observers say the election of Athletes’ and Technical Representatives will also give key stakeholders a stronger voice in shaping the future of Nigerian rugby, ensuring that decisions reflect the needs of players, coaches, and technical officials.
