The United States Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting Nigerian students, innovators, and change-makers seeking educational opportunities in America.

U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy Officer, Brian Neubert, made the remarks on Monday at the 2025 Education U.S. Nigeria Fair in Abuja, themed “Empowering Futures: Discover American Excellence in Education and Innovation.”

The annual fair connects prospective students, parents, and counsellors with representatives from U.S. colleges and universities. It offers insights on admission requirements, academic programmes, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.

“The United States is proud to partner with Nigeria in empowering students, who are the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers,” Neubert said.

“Today, we have representatives from 28 American colleges and universities who want to meet you. EducationUSA brought them here to recruit Nigerian students to their campuses.”

Neubert also highlighted the importance of responsible student visa management for those who eventually secure admission.

“Maintaining your student visa status requires compliance with all regulations. Make the most of your time in the U.S., and take back to Nigeria all your cherished experiences,” he advised.

He encouraged students to follow in the footsteps of previous Nigerian graduates who have excelled in U.S. institutions and made meaningful contributions both at home and globally.

The event underscores the ongoing collaboration between Nigeria and the U.S. in fostering educational exchange and nurturing future leaders.
