In a major milestone for Nigerian cricket, one of the Nigeria Cricket Federation’s (NCF) top coaches, Daniel Dauda Gim, has successfully passed the International Cricket Council (ICC) Level 3 Coaching Course, placing him among the highest-ranked coaches in the global cricket community.

According to an official email from Mr. Abhishek Shekhawat, Manager of Participation Programmes at the ICC, Gim met all required competency standards during the ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course held in Bahrain from May 26 to 30, 2025.

The assessment result confirmed that he attained the “Competent” grade with a score above 80%, earning him formal recognition as an ICC Level 3 Coach.

“We are pleased to share the assessment outcome for the coach nominated by Nigeria Cricket Federation for the ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course. Daniel David Gim has successfully met the required competency standards and is now formally recognised as an ICC Level 3 Coach,” said Mr. Shekhawat in the statement.

Reacting to the development, Uyi Akpata, President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, congratulated Gim for the outstanding achievement, describing him as a “worthy ambassador of Nigerian cricket.”
He commended the coach’s dedication to learning and excellence, noting that the milestone aligns with the Federation’s continuous commitment to human capacity development across all areas of the game.

“We are proud of Daniel’s accomplishment. It is a testament to our ongoing efforts to empower Nigerian coaches, umpires, and players with international-standard training opportunities. This achievement strengthens our coaching base and reinforces Nigeria’s growing reputation on the global cricket map,” Akpata stated.
