The Chairman of the Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KADSVA), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has again reaffirmed his commitment to youth and sports development by awarding scholarships totaling ₦2.8 million to promising volleyball players in the state.

The gesture was disclosed in a statement signed by the association’s Media Board Member, Okpani Dickson, and made available to journalists on Wednesday in Kaduna.

According to the statement, the annual scholarship scheme supports student-athletes in tertiary institutions across the country, helping them balance academic pursuits with sporting excellence.

KADSVA Secretary, Adamu Mohammed, revealed that 14 players benefited under the tertiary education category, with each receiving ₦80,000.

The beneficiaries include Agape Sunday, Ramatu Abdulmalik, Joy Lawrence, Joy Osumuriyi, Fani Stephen, Patience Abuh, Ramatu Hamza, Emmanuel Nicholas, Jethro Danlami, Chinoye John, Esther Ogazi, Jamilu Musa, Bobai Andrew, and Mohammed Abubakar.

In addition, seven elite players received monthly stipends of ₦30,000 over an eight-month period, amounting to ₦240,000 per athlete.

Those rewarded are Emmanuel Alex, Itodo Ojonimi, Emmanuel Samuel, Isaac A. James, Rosemary Sunday, Pamela Bawa, and Blessing Okpara.

The beneficiaries, visibly elated by the support, praised Engineer Nimrod—who also serves as President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF)—for his consistent investment in the growth of volleyball and the welfare of athletes.

They offered prayers for his continued success and protection, noting that the initiative will further motivate them to excel both on the court and in their studies.

Nimrod’s sustained scholarship programme has become a cornerstone of volleyball development in Kaduna State, reflecting a broader vision to nurture talent, promote education, and strengthen the future of the sport in Nigeria.
