The Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) has released its proposed calendar for the 2026 season, outlining host venues and timelines for what promises to be another exciting year of sand football in the country.

The calendar was presented by the League Coordinator, Mahmud Hadejia, during a virtual stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

The meeting brought together members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Beach Soccer and Futsal Committee, led by Chairman Honourable Ese Essien, as well as NBSL management and club representatives.

According to the approved schedule, the 2026 season will kick off in Kebbi State, which is set to host Round One during the Sallah festivities in March. Round Two is scheduled to take place in Anambra State during the Easter celebrations in April.

The season will climax with the Super Finals in May, with Abuja proposed as the host city, where the league’s top-performing teams will compete for the 2026 title.

The league will maintain a straight league format for the first two rounds, ensuring competitive balance and consistency before the decisive Super Finals.

Stakeholders unanimously endorsed the calendar, noting that the early release would give clubs and national team selectors adequate time to prepare for major international engagements.

These include the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the AFCON tournament, and other regional and continental competitions.
