Nigeria’s Junior Female YellowGreens have opened their ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Division 1 campaign on a winning note, securing a hard-fought four-wicket victory over Uganda U19 Women in Tanzania.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Uganda struggled against Nigeria’s disciplined bowling attack, managing just 59 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs.

However, Nigeria held their nerve to complete the chase in 13.1 overs. Omosigho Eguakun anchored the innings with a patient 24 off 29 balls, while Christabel Chukwuonye struck 13 off 10 deliveries, including three boundaries, to help steer Nigeria home.
The result gives the Junior Female YellowGreens an encouraging start as they continue their push for progression in the global qualification pathway.
