First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to Christian groups in Kwara State to celebrate the Yuletide and New Year.

The rice distribution, targeted at members of the Christians Northern Nigeria Progressive Forum (CNNPF) and the Christians Political Support Group (CPSG), was officially flagged off on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Ilorin.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, who represented the First Lady, described the intervention as timely and reflective of compassion, fellowship and inclusiveness associated with the Yuletide season.

He said the gesture underscored the First Lady’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and fostering unity across religious and regional lines.

Prof. Sulaiman commended the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a people-centred approach to governance.

He also praised Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for prioritising the welfare of residents.

While presenting the rice to selected beneficiaries, Prof. Sulaiman assured participants that the distribution was carried out transparently and strictly in line with approval.

“I have been mandated to deliver, and I have delivered,” he said, a statement that drew applause from beneficiaries who confirmed the accuracy of the distribution.

He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, support APC administrations at all levels and continue to pray for national leaders, expressing optimism that 2026 would bring improved security and economic prosperity.

Representatives of the beneficiary groups, including Pastor Adedokun Isaac, Prophetess Felicia Oluwatoyin, Iya Afin Bolanle and Elder Salako Sunday, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the support.

They described the intervention as timely and offered prayers for her well-being and continued service to the nation.

The rice distribution forms part of the First Lady’s broader humanitarian outreach during major national celebrations.
