President Bola Tinubu has called on voters in Ekiti State to deliver at least 90 per cent of their votes to him in the 2027 presidential election, as he seeks a second term in office.
Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, made the appeal on Thursday during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.
The President said his administration was seeking another mandate to consolidate its achievements, particularly in infrastructure, education and economic development.
Highlighting projects executed in the state, Tinubu listed the completed Ado-Ikere-Akure road, ongoing road construction and the establishment of a federal university at Iyin-Ekiti.
He also pointed to the benefits of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, saying students of Ekiti State University and Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology were among the beneficiaries.
Tinubu further challenged his political opponents, arguing that they lacked the leadership experience and capacity to match his administration’s record.
The APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, urged Ekiti residents to support the President’s re-election bid, describing him as a performer and reformer.
Similarly, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, challenged the state to deliver at least 800,000 votes for Tinubu, citing its more than 900,000 collected Permanent Voter Cards.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji reaffirmed Ekiti State’s commitment to Tinubu’s re-election, claiming that former governors and opposition figures had united in support of the President’s second-term ambition.
