Wike Projects 70,000 Turnout for Tinubu’s Rivers Rally

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says Rivers State expects at least 70,000 people to welcome President Bola Tinubu during his visit on Saturday.

Wike made the disclosure on Friday while inspecting preparations at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, the venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.

He described the visit as significant, noting that it would be Tinubu’s first trip to Rivers State since he assumed office in May 2023.

Wike said the state had put security, decorations and logistics in place to ensure a successful rally.

He expressed confidence that the expected crowd would exceed the stadium’s 40,000 seating capacity, adding that residents were enthusiastic about receiving the President.

The minister also said more than 80 campaign buses had been deployed across major streets in Port Harcourt to mobilise support and create awareness ahead of the rally.

He added that the event would give political candidates an opportunity to present their programmes to voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
